Plein Air Painting

"En plein air" (French) ~ in the open air

 

My grandfather was an artist and one of his many pursuits was plein air painting. I joined him on an outing with his painting group when I was ten and my painting won best in show at the Medina County Fair. When the world slowed down in 2020 I was able to join my grandfather for weekly painting outings and my comfort with the practice grew. I'm so lucky that I had that time with him. I now carry on the tradition, painting the majestic vistas of Southern California. Grandpa is always with me.
