Plein Air Painting

"En plein air" (French) ~ in the open air

 

When I was ten I joined my grandpa for an outing with his plein air painting group, and my watercolor work won best in show at the county fair. Fast-forward to 2020, he and I went on weekly painting outings to local parks. At that point, I started painting with oils and my dedication to the practice grew. I've since painted mountain vistas, seascapes, lagoons, forests, and farmland.

Whenever I set out with my easel, I feel most in my element and a deep sense of connection with my grandpa.
